It’s been a year since my friend died in a car crash in New Jersey and it’s changed the town
Main Post:
So my friend, Sophia deTorres died in a car accident when the driver of the car did not stop at the stop sign on August 22, 2024 on the first day of school in the following days. People are outrage because that four-way intersection has caused many accidents in the past and they were just tired of all the accidents that have happened there on that road and they made it a four-way stop because of it the school where I attend did not take it easy because she a big part of the school she helped our kids with special needs and this just brought a new light to a lot of people how dangerous the roads can be. and I think they took it in a good way brought awareness about driving safely and always stopping at stop signs and having a basketball game in her memory, I think they’re making a memorial in the school. afterwards your mother found A foundation called Sophia shining light. I just want everyone else to know please whatever you do stop at stop signs and make sure no one else is coming. it saves lives.
Top Comment: Really sorry about your friend. Drivers have gotten more aggressive but I've also gotten older so there could be a correlation. edit: I should add, distracted too.

First car accident - loosing my mind
Main Post:
So I got into my first accident a week ago and I’ve been pretty much loosing my mind ever since. The car was totaled, it was my fault and I should’ve been more responsible. How do you stop replaying the crash over and over again in your head? How do you make yourself feel like you’re NOT the worst person in the world? I just kind of feel like I’ve ruined my life a little bit, I’ll never get good insurance again, and I’ve totally fucked my parents insurance. I think I feel like an awful person because of the collateral damage it caused my parents. People keep saying these things passed but I’m crying like all day every day and I can’t make it stop!
Top Comment: Because no ones perfect and accidents happen. That's what insurance is for and it shouldn't ruin insurance permanently or prevent future insurance forever. The best thing to do is learn from your mistakes but don't condemn yourself. That's how we learn and you will get through this, there is another side of any painful experience it just takes time.

People who’ve survived fatal/extremely severe car wrecks, what was it like?
Main Post:
Were you a driver or a passenger?
What were the leading factors that caused the crash?
What was the scariest part of the crash?
How badly were you injured?
Did the crash do or cause anything that affects or affected your quality of life?
If you could give a newer and inexperienced driver advice, what would it be?
I understand this post is pretty blunt and morbid. I just have a peculiar fascination with auto-mobile accidents. Thanks y’all 🫶

How many car accidents have you been in?
Main Post:
I’m a big hypochondriac but a thought came to me recently: a car accident could easily take me out instead, especially since I’m in the car almost every day. It just made me wonder, how many car accidents does the average person experience? I’ve been in two

Those of you guys who got into car accidents before..how did you cope?
Main Post:
The sound of metal clashing legit scares me
Top Comment: Sometimes you never get over it. About 40 years ago, I was in fast lane of freeway at night in rain. All of a sudden, there’s a brown car, sideways, abandoned in my lane. No lights on it. I saw it in time to stop and guy behind me saw and stopped but guy behind him didn’t and hit us all. I saw car in mirror coming but couldn’t do anything. To this day, if I’m on a dark road, I’m afraid there is something in lane ahead of me. I always try to drive behind others so I’m not first again. You always carry the fear with you but you don’t let it define you.
